This is the best way to make money through a website, using it as a platform for your business to sell products or services.
#2: PROMOTING PRODUCTS OF OTHER COMPANIES
Promoting other people’s products or other company’s products is one of the most popular business models for most of internet marketers who are making a killing online without creating their own products. It also known as Affiliate Marketing.
#3: HOSTING SPONSORED CONTENT
If your website traffic is growing, you can make money by hosting articles or posts. A company or business might pay you, for example, to host an article recommending a product or service of theirs.
Feature banner ads, display ads on the sidebar of your site or opt for pop-up ads – the possibilities are almost endless. Make sure to think about the layout of your site and select advertising space that fits the visuals and content of your site.
Most of the time, direct ads as sold on a CPM basis which is where a website publisher pays a certain amount for 1,000 impressions on each ad. Some direct advertising arrangements are also based on cost per action (CPA) where you pay for a specified action such as a like, retweet and so on. Advertorials are messages about products or services from a third party. Blog or website owners then compose an article where they advertise third party products or services. Because Blog or Website owners transfer more trust to a potential customer by writing extensively and with enthusiasm about a product or service, the customer is more inclined to make a purchase.
Another earning option is asking for donations.
Do you want to keep some credits for your work and motivated asking for a donation is not a crazy question at all? After all, you have done a lot of work for something that someone else can use for free. It is up to your visitor whether he or she makes a donation and how much they donate.
#8: OFFERING PREMIUM CONTENT FOR A FEE
Once you start building a loyal following, you can start asking them to pay for added services or premium content through your site. This method really only works if people trust your expertise and feel like you have important information to share, so you’ll need to work on being an expert in your field or target market. It’s not generally recommended for websites that are just getting started since there isn’t this basis of trust yet. Therefore, this method is a better monetization option for established sites with larger audiences.
#9: HOSTING PREMIUM WEBINAR
This is similar to offer private coaching sessions except that you can open it up to a wider audience. Paid webinars are a blend of promoting your content and offering your consulting services. They’re also a great way to further build a relationship with your online visitors and foster discussion. You can use these webinars to get new ideas for content and to react directly to the concerns and desires of your audience.
If you have a hard time figuring out what to charge, do a Google search and see if you can find similar figure sin your industry that offer the same services. You’ll need to be realistic about your standing in the community in terms of expertise and what you have to offer when setting a fair rate. You can also follow up your webinars with a quick survey asking attendees what they thought about your content as well as the value and adjust rates accordingly.
#10: JOB BOARDS
Having a Job board on your site is a great way to make your blog “sticky” – meaning you get visitors returning again and again. It’s also a great way to earn some extra cash while also providing a valuable service. Darren Rowse from ProBlogger runs a hugely popular job board where he charges $70 for a 30-day listing. With around 70 listings per month, he’s bringing in some solid earnings with relatively little investment of time or money.

So what is a sales funnel you might ask? A sales funnel is a plan to allow a person to become aware of your company, learn about it, and make a decision on whether not to buy.
The purpose of a Sales Funnel:
- Capture your prospects contact information such as names, emails and/or phone numbers
- Build relationships with your prospects by providing real vale before asking for anything in return
- Sell great products and/or services
Most people don’t want to share their email addresses. You have to have an attractive proposition or what we call an Irresistible Offer, that will help your audience solve a specific problem. Here’s where you have the golden opportunity of providing real value, establish trust and build relationships. Does this mean that you will have to wait several weeks or months before you start generating revenue? Absolutely no! If your product or service solves an immediate problem, your customers are willing to pay for it and your website does an excellent job in presenting that product or service so you convert those prospects into customers and generate more revenue then you have an effective sales funnel!
Here’s a quick example of a sales funnel:
Let’s say you’re a travel agent and have your own website where you offer basic information about you and your services. You have a contact information form, your phone number and button that says “call me for more info”. This approach might get you a few leads. However, doing it this way means that you’re just waiting for people to pick up the phone and call you.
Here’s how you could turn this basic informational website into a sales funnel:
- Create a FREE REPORT of a topic of interest for my audience that likes to travel.
- The title of your report for example, is “5 Things You Can Do Right Now to Save 50% on Your Next Family Vacation”.
- Place the report on your website and give it to anyone that provides your with their name and email address.
- Promote the page where you have the free report by mentioning it in social media, driving traffic to your site via Facebook or other social media sites and emailing the page to anyone you think might be interested.
- People go to your site, give you their name and email address to access the free report.
Now, you have a list of prospects. People that might be interested in your travel agency or other services. Your next step is to convert those prospects into buying customers. Here’s how you could do it:
Every week, you will send an email with more special reports, hotel specials, vacation ideas, last minute cruise deals, free travel, etc. Keep in mind the goal here is not to bombard your prospects email list with offers and “buy more from you” but combine helpful content with strong and irresistible Call-To-Actions.
This is where you build relationships. Now, you are being strategic and intentional about using your sales funnel to build your customer list and generate revenue. This sales funnel becomes a critical par of your overall marketing efforts.
